Flood Insurance

Flood Insurance

Coverage beyond standard flood insurance.

Did you know that standard business and homeowner’s policies do not cover flood damage? During hurricane season, many hurricane claims are denied because the loss is actually caused by flooding.

Businesses and Homeowners in Florida may need to purchase additional flood insurance for this risk.

Are you aware of the two important dates regarding Flood Insurance?

Congress must periodically renew the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP’s)

statutory authority to operate. The National Flood Insurance Program will continue through at least November 30 after the U.S. Senate passed a short-term extension hours before the NFIP was set to expire.

Congress must now reauthorize the NFIP by no later than 11:59 pm on November 30, 2018

The Palm Beach County Flood maps were updated October 5th, 2017 and your Flood Zone may have changed.

You can look up your own address to see what proposed flood zone you will fall into. If you have a mortgage on your property, your lender will REQUIRE you to have flood insurance if you fall into the flood zone.

If your flood zone is changing then Plastridge can:

• Help you develop the best strategy to cope with the change and avoid forced place coverage.

• Determine your eligibility for grandfathering for the rates for properties newly mapped into a flood zone.

• Quote different options.

• Help you with your LOMA (Letter of Map Amendment) letter for grandfathering.
